In the January 2025 issue of Home Art magazine, the leading theme of the "Transformation" theme is a can this time. As Kalif Design, we wrote an inspiring story by transforming an ordinary object into an extraordinary design in this transformation journey.
Our design was inspired by the metaphor "we can keep dangerous things under control with our hands". Voluntary deformations applied to the surface of the canister give it an organic and dynamic character despite the hardness of the industrial material. The sanding process performed on metal surfaces takes the aesthetic value of the design one step further by adding textural depth.
The presentation of the cable wrapped around the hand symbolizes that energy and power are kept in a controlled manner. The design impressively reveals the "dangerous red" feeling in the finale, with the warm and striking lighting provided by the red bulb. This touch adds art and meaning to the industrial object and offers a vision that pushes the boundaries of upcycling.
This special design came to life with the creative touches of Mehmet Hacıosmanoğlu and Haluk Değirmenci, the founding partners of Kalif Design. The design not only transforms an object, but also presents the themes of energy, power and control with a strong visual expression.
